Glades Talent is working with a respected leader in the construction services industry to hire a Heavy Equipment Service Technician.
Position Title: Heavy Equipment Service Technician
Reports To: General Manager / Operations Manager
Location: Clearwater, FL
Summary/Objective:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Heavy Equipment Service Technician to inspect, service, and maintain a fleet of heavy-duty construction equipment. This hands-on role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting repairs, and performing routine maintenance on equipment such as loaders, dozers, excavators, and more. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and capable of working independently at job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions.
Perform routine maintenance, including lubrication, fluid/filter changes, and inspections.
Repair or replace worn or damaged components (e.g., alternators, belts, bushings).
Operate and maintain a mobile service truck and crane, if required.
Read and interpret schematics for effective troubleshooting.
Ensure all tasks are performed with safety as the top priority.
Required Skills:
Hands-on experience operating and repairing heavy equipment.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
Proficiency in brake repair and mechanical alignment.
Welding and light fabrication skills are preferred.
Ability to use mechanical hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
Familiarity with tire service procedures and automotive repair is a plus.
Team-oriented attitude and commitment to a safe work environment.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with arms.
Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must be able to lift/move up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
