We have treadmills, an in-ground swimming pool (coming end of summer) playtime to help drain the dogs' energy, as well as individualized enrichment activities. The mix of mental and physical stimulation makes our dogs happy and more receptive to the training that builds their confidence, as well as the manners to learn to interact and play with other dogs.

You will learn how to treadmill dogs, teach them to swim, and instill good manners and confidence in the dogs under our care. You will also learn how to conduct enrichment activities that will help dogs learn to be calm and fulfilled.

Following are the prerequisites for the job:

• Must have some pet care experience: please do NOT apply if you don't have any pet care experience. Applicants with no relevant pet care experience will be rejected. Having your own dogs is NOT deemed relevant day care experience.
• Must love dogs
• Be able to lift 50 lbs
• Be reliable and trustworthy because dogs are depending on you
• Be willing to undergo a background check

The following is a description of the tasks required of our dog handlers:

For all shifts, a large chunk of the job will be cleaning our facility. We pride ourselves on running a very clean facility, so a big chunk (30-50% depending on your specific shift) of your time will be spent cleaning. The remaining percentage of the time, you will exercise our day campers and boarders on treadmills, paying attention to each and every dog; swimming in the pool with dogs, teaching some to swim, and running playgroups of dogs divided into smaller groups. At ALL times, you will be vigilant and monitor dogs for behavioral issues, aches and pains, or anything out of the normal. We work hard to maintain a ratio of a maximum of 20 dogs to one handler, and we usually have a lower ratio than that.

Upon hire, the successful candidates will undergo on-the-job training from senior staff. You will shadow senior staff on their tasking, and work closely with them, before you will be allowed to work with dogs by yourself.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.50 - $18.50 per hour
