The role you’ll contribute:

The CVOR First Assistant provides a highly technical & knowledge based skill-set to assist the surgeon to carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient.The CVOR First Assistant is capable of working independently, or codependently with surgeons, to finalize the surgery according to the surgeon’s plan of care.The CVOR First Assistant prepares and maintains the surgical area, provides scrubbing duties and delivers first assistant intraoperative technical functions to the physician during procedures, assists the RN in technical functions related to patient care and assists in the training of others and functions as a resource within the department. The CVOR First Assistant has the knowledge and experience to perform endoscopic or open-procedure intraoperative harvesting of the saphenous vein.The CVOR First Assistant performs endovascular & open revascularization of the peripheral & central vascular systems.

· Determines specific equipment needed per surgical procedure.

· Reviews case load and studies and prepares for pending surgical procedures.
