**Description:** Carmel Valley Ranch is situated onnearly500acresof lush land. Carmel Valley Ranch boasts an 18-hole, Pete Dye-designed championship golf course. Carmel Valley Ranch is richwithagriculture and horticulture. Along withthegolf course, the resort is complemented with an organic farm, an apiary,Olive Orchard,over 7,500 lavender plants, wine grapes, hiking trails andnumerousoutdoor event facilities. California natives and drought resistant plants surround the River Ranch athletic and tennis facility, golf club house, spa,lodgeandthe hotel rooms.The positiontheassistant golf course superintendent reports directly to the Director of Golf Course Maintenance and Grounds. UndertheDirector of Golf Course Maintenance and Grounds, the AssistantGolf Course and GroundsSuperintendent directs andparticipatesin the maintenance of the golf course and property grounds.The AssistantGolf Course and GroundsSuperintendent may serve in the superintendent'scapacityduring his/her absence. **Qualifications:** **Functions** **& Standards** **:** + Assistsin planning and supervising the maintenance of golf course and property landscape; schedules work; and supervises the employees and the use of the equipment. + Instructs equipment operators on the operation and care of mowing and other equipment; supervises pesticide applications and/oroperatesand calibrates pesticide application equipment; and supervises andparticipatesin the operation and maintenance of pumps, and in the maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems. + Assistsin personnel management and evaluation, employee safety and personnel discipline. + Maymodifythe daily work schedule based on professional interpretation. + Working knowledge of the maintenance of golf course tees,fairways and greens; seeding and maintenance practices for golf course turf; planting, cultivating, pruning, and caring for plants, shrubs and trees; characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers and soil conditioners; herbicides and pest control methods and materials; drainage control methods; and irrigation systems, including wells, pumps and automatic controls. + Ability to schedule and supervise maintenance work to achieve the most efficientutilizationof workers and equipment; prepare clear and concise reports; andmaintaineffective employee and public relations. + Possession of a valid driver's license. + Require current state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicatoror to obtain within six months of employment.The person must have a positive attitude, positive interaction withemployees andguests,strongwork ethic, and the ability to work well with others.Conversational Spanish skills are a plus.Wage range of $75k to $85k annual **Primary Location:** US-CA-Carmel **Organization:** Carmel Valley Ranch **Pay Basis:** Yearly **Job Level:** Full-time **Job:** Golf and Recreation **Req ID:** CAR005227 Hyatt is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer.
